คอร์ส Foundation คือโปรแกรมที่ถูกสร้างขึ้นมาเพื่อเปิดโอกาสให้นักเรียนไทย ทั้งที่จบการศึกษาระดับมัธยมศึกษาในโรงเรียนไทย หรือนักเรียนไทยที่จบการศึกษาจากต่างประเทศ หรือนักเรียนภาคอินเตอร์ในประเทศไทย สามารถมีทางเลือกในการสมัครเข้าเรียนในมหาวิทยาลัยต่างๆในประเทศอังกฤษได้


เกณฑ์การสมัครเข้าหลักสูตร Foundation

  • จบม. 5 ด้วยเกรด 2.5 หรือ
  • จบม. 6 ด้วยเกรด 2.0-3.0 หรือ
  • มีคะแนน IGCSE ตามที่มหาวิทยาลัยกำหนด หรือ
  • มีคะแนน IB หรือ International Baccalaureate ตามที่มหาวิทยาลัยกำหนด
  • มีคะแนน A-Level ตามที่มหาลัยกำหนด หรือ
  • มีคะแนนจบหลักสูตร High School จากต่างประเทศ (NCEA Level 2 for NZ )

เมื่อนักเรียนเรียนจบคอร์ส IYO และผ่านการสอบตามเกณฑ์ประเมินภายในที่สถาบันกำหนด จะได้รับการการันตีสิทธิ์ในการข้ามปี 1 และเข้าศึกษาต่อระดับปริญญาตรีที่ University of York ได้ในระดับชั้นปีที่ 2 (Year 2 Entry) โดยเรียนต่ออีกเพียง 2 ปีก็สำเร็จการศึกษาทันทีในสาขาดังต่อไปนี้:

นักเรียนสามารถเลือกได้ว่าจะอยู่หอพักหรือบ้านเช่าโดยเอกชน หรือจะกับครอบครัวชาวอังกฤษเป็นลักษณะ Homestay ก็ได้ แต่ถ้านักเรียนอายุต่ำกว่า 18 ปี แนะนำให้อยู่กับหอพักที่จัดการโดยมหาวิทยาลัย

ตั้งอยู่ทางฝั่งเหนือของ Campus West ภายในเขตพื้นที่หลักของมหาวิทยาลัย มีทำเลที่โดดเด่นมากเนื่องจากตั้งอยู่ติดกับห้องสมุดหลัก (JB Morrell Library) มีคาเฟ่ ห้องอ่านหนังสือส่วนตัว และร้านค้าอยู่บริเวณนั้น สามารถใช้บริการนั่งรถบัสฟรีเพื่อไปเรียนที่สถาบัน Kaplan ได้ภายใน 5 นาที หรือเลือกเดินเท้าชมทัศนียภาพผ่านแคมปัสประมาณ 15–20 นาที
