  • สนามบินคาร์ดิฟฟ์อยู่ห่างออกไป 17 กิโลเมตร และกรุงลอนดอนอยู่ห่างเพียง 2 ชั่วโมงโดยรถไฟ

กรณีคะแนน IELTS ไม่ผ่านเกณฑ์ที่กำหนดด้านบน นักเรียนสามารถเรียนปรับพื้นฐานภาษาอังกฤษ (English Language Preparation) และเมื่อสอบผ่านตามเกณฑ์ของคอร์ส จะสามารถเข้าเรียน Foundation ได้โดยไม่ต้องสอบ IELTS อีกรอบ โดยเกณฑ์การรับสมัครมีดังนี้:
16 weeks
    • IELTS Academic UKVI 4.5 overall (minimum 4.5 in writing, minimum 4.0 in all other skills)

10 weeks
    • IELTS Academic UKVI 4.5 overall (minimum 4.5 in all skills)

6 weeks
    • IELTS Academic UKVI 5.0 overall (minimum 5.0 in writing, minimum 4.5 in all other skills)

นักเรียนที่เรียนหลักสูตร International Foundation Year และ International Year One (IYO) ของ Cardiff University สามารถจองหอพักนักศึกษาของมหาวิทยาลัย (On-Campus Residences) ได้โดยตรงเช่นเดียวกับนักศึกษาปริญญาตรีทั่วไป มหาวิทยาลัยมีการการันตีห้องพักให้สำหรับนักศึกษาต่างชาติปีแรก หากยื่นสมัครตามเวลาที่กำหนด

เป็นหอพักที่เป็นเจ้าของและบริหารจัดการโดยมหาวิทยาลัยโดยตรง ทุกห้องรวมค่าน้ำ ค่าไฟ และอินเทอร์เน็ตแล้ว มีระบบดูแลความปลอดภัย
    • Talybont (North / South / Court):
        • จุดเด่น: เป็นชุมชนหอพักนักศึกษาที่ใหญ่ที่สุดและเป็นที่นิยมที่สุดของมหาวิทยาลัย มีสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกครบครัน รวมถึงสปอร์ตเซ็นเตอร์ในตัวหอพัก
        • ประเภทห้อง: ส่วนใหญ่เป็นห้อง En-suite (ห้องนอนส่วนตัว มีห้องน้ำในตัว แชร์ห้องครัวกับเพื่อน)
        • การเดินทาง: เดินประมาณ 15–20 นาที ไปยังตึกเรียนหลัก (Cathays Park Campus) 

    • Senghennydd Court / Senghennydd Hall:
        • จุดเด่น: ตั้งอยู่ใกล้ใจกลางวิทยาเขตหลักและ Cardiff Students’ Union มากที่สุด เหมาะสำหรับคนชอบความสะดวกในการเดินเรียนและหาของกิน
        • ประเภทห้อง: มีทั้งแบบ Shared Bathroom (แชร์ห้องน้ำและห้องครัวเพื่อความประหยัด) และแบบ En-suite

    • Aberconway Hall:
        • จุดเด่น: ตั้งอยู่ติดกับ Cardiff Business School เหมาะมากสำหรับนักเรียนที่เรียนสาย Business, Economics, Accounting & Finance
        • ประเภทห้อง: ห้องพักแบบธรรมดา แชร์ห้องน้ำและห้องครัว (Self-catered)
