Auditorium 3RD floor
Purpose of the Event
Applying to a leading UK university requires more than strong grades. Students must demonstrate intellectual curiosity, independent thinking, academic motivation and the ability to communicate their ideas clearly.
This event is designed to help students:
- Develop a clearer understanding of the differences between leading UK universities
- Learn directly from Thai students currently studying at highly selective institutions
- Explore how university environment, academic style and student culture can affect their experience
- Strengthen their critical-thinking and communication skills
- Begin developing a realistic and personalised university application strategy
- Consider how an international education could later contribute to Thailand’s future
The session is not intended to identify one university as universally “better” than another. Its purpose is to help students understand which environment may best match their academic interests, personality and long-term goals.
The University Debate
Current Thai students will represent their universities in three structured debate sessions:
Oxford vs Cambridge
How do the two collegiate universities differ in teaching style, academic culture, student experience and opportunities?
LSE vs UCL vs Imperial
Which London university offers the strongest environment for students seeking academic intensity, global exposure and future career opportunities?
Exeter vs Bath
How do leading campus universities compare in academic reputation, student community, employability and quality of life?
The debates will move beyond rankings. Speakers will discuss their actual experiences, including:
- Teaching and assessment
- Academic workload
- College or campus life
- Student societies
- Internships and career preparation
- Accommodation and living costs
- Support available to international students
- What they wish they had known before applying

Meet Current Thai Students
Following the debates, students and parents will have an opportunity to network directly with current Thai students from:
The University of Oxford
The University of Cambridge
The London School of Economics and Political Science
University College London
Imperial College London
The University of Exeter
The University of Bath
This is an opportunity to ask honest questions in an informal environment and gain perspectives that may not be available through university websites, rankings or standard admissions presentations.
Participating student speakers attend in their personal capacity. Their views represent their own experiences and not the official position of their universities.
Exclusive 1:1 University Planning Online Session
Every selected student will receive an opportunity to attend a separate one-to-one university planning session with Mango’s Principal Counsellor from Singapore.
Academic profile and subject choices
Potential degree options
Suitable UK universities
Oxford, Cambridge and G5 application readiness
Admissions-test and interview requirements
Extracurricular and supercurricular development
Application timeline and next steps
The objective is to provide each family with a clearer and more realistic roadmap, rather than a generic list of highly ranked universities.
Why Learn from Singapore’s Admissions Experience?
Singapore has developed one of the strongest university-preparation environments outside the United Kingdom.
Singapore reportedly recorded the highest number of admitted Oxford and Cambridge students among overseas applicant markets, with 257 students admitted from 1,754 applicants. Singaporean applicants also achieved a reported combined success rate of approximately 14.7%, one of the strongest rates among non-UK applicant groups.
Singapore’s performance reflects a preparation culture that typically begins early and places emphasis on:
- Strong academic foundations
- Strategic subject selection
- Intellectual development beyond the school curriculum
- Admissions-test preparation
- Interview practice
- Careful university and course selection
Mango brings this structured planning perspective to Thai students while ensuring that each strategy is adapted to the student’s individual background, school curriculum and aspirations.
